Make yourself at home

Every room is different, named for a colour and furnished with antique family pieces; some have original beams or a mezzanine where the children can sleep. All of them have their own bathroom.

A generous breakfast comes with every stay: bread and pastries, fruit, local cheese and salumi, and whatever the garden and the market have to offer that week.

You won't want to eat out every night, so there's a kitchen you're welcome to cook in, with produce from the local markets and, soon, from our own garden.

The old cellar under the house is where we pour our own wine and olive oil, and where long dinners happen when there's something to celebrate.

The pool sits above the vineyard, with loungers and a view across the hills. Around it are the garden, the olive grove and our own rows of vines, with lavender on the slopes.

Life here is lived outdoors. Quiet roads through the vineyards start at our gate, for an early run or a long walk, and the bikes are free: Nizza is ten minutes away, and the regional cycle route from Canelli to Incisa Scapaccino runs through the valley below.

Children have space here: a swing under the old oak, a forest playground and the pool on warm days. Ambra and the Indaco suite sleep a family of four, and a baby cot and babysitting are available on request.

With eight rooms sleeping up to 20, and up to 30 when we add the neighbours' house, Cascina Blon works well for a group: family reunions, trips with friends, celebrations and small retreats. There is a long table in the vaulted cantina, the pool and garden to spread out in, and we are happy to arrange tastings, cooking classes and bikes for everyone.
