Back at Poderi Rosso Giovanni, five years later

In September we had family staying, so we took them to Agliano Terme for a tasting at Poderi Rosso Giovanni.

It's funny, because we already knew the wines. Five years ago, on an autumn trip to Monferrato, we fell for Lionello Rosso's Barbera, and we're big fans of his Vermentino from Sardinia too. So it was only natural to go back and do a proper tasting this time.

First we got a very nice tour through the vineyard, with lots of detailed explanations. Perfect timing: Heleen wants to learn as much as she can right now, for the day we make our own wine. After that we tasted a lot of wines, including a white Barbera. How is that even possible?

We went home with twelve bottles, which Gert Jan has set aside for when his colleagues visit in a couple of weeks.
